NSX Releases July 2009 ETF/ETN Data Report

National Stock Exchange, Inc.(NSX®) announced that assets in U.S. listed Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF) and Exchange-Traded Notes (ETN) totaled approximately $649.9 billion at July 2009 month-end, an increase of approximately 8% over June 2009 month-end when assets reached $603.5 billion. At the end of July 2009, the number of listed products totaled 851, compared to 814 listed products one year ago.
July 2009 net cash inflows from all ETFs/ETNs totaled approximately $13.4 billion. Year-to-date net cash inflows totaled approximately $55.3 billion, an increase of approximately 58% over the same time period in 2008 when year-to-date net cash inflows totaled $34.9 billion. In addition, ETF/ETN notional trading volume totaled approximately $1.4 trillion for July 2009, representing 28% of all U.S. equity trading volume.
This data is included in the full NSX July 2009 Month-End ETF/ETN Data Report released by the Exchange, which has become a key industry source for ETF/ETN data. These Data Reports are published following the end of each calendar month.
